Symborg reduces the negative effects of water reused and/or highly saline soils, as it is through the employment of their organisms are improving the water potential and stomatal conductance of the crops in these conditions of environmental stress for plants.
Scientific tests carried out in collaboration with the Department of Irrigation from the center of Soil Science and Applied Biology del Segura CEBAS-CESIC, show that plants inoculated with the products of Symborg better resist in conditions of high salinity, water scarcity or reused water irrigation. Their microorganisms interact to improve the water potential of plants and their values in stomatal conductance.
As reflected the conclusions of the research that Symborg will show scientists attending the Congress iWARESA2018, «the effective partnership of species of microorganisms and plants under a specific environmental stress is difficult and challenging».
The scientific tests were performed in adult plants of Viburnus Tinus L, commonly known as Laurustinus or laurel wild, submitted by one side to normal irrigation water and by other hand wastewater that had previously been treated to regenerate them. In each of the two forms of irrigation, plants were inoculated with the mycorrhizal arbuscular fungi patented by Symborg Glomus iranicum tenuihypharum var and other microbial complexes.
This mycorrhizal fungi is a symbiont of the roots of the plants, and allows the survival of the species from the area that is associated to the harshest conditions. This is made possible by the action of arbuscular mycorrhizae: structures generated by the fungus that improve the passage of nutrients to the roots of the plant, while also improving their water status and increase tolerance to the presence of high salt concentrations in the environment, factors that are commonly associated with the holdings of intensive agriculture.

This variety is the first mycorrhizal fungi patented, and its transfer to the roots of the plants occurs naturally through the production of spores from the part of the fungus but, unfortunately, the size of the same is too large to pass through the filter mechanisms of drip irrigation, which are the ideal environment for the dispersion. The solution? Use other parts propagators of the fungus and sift the commodities to 80 microns to ensure its passage through any irrigation system.
With reclaimed wastewater plants are negatively affected by salinity, as a result of the osmotic effect. However, after the application of micro-organisms, the Ca / Na of the leaves and increase the content of Cl in these was reduced. The inoculation had a positive effect on the mineral content of the plant, and improved the water potential of the stem and relative content of chlorophyll.

The full conclusions of these scientific tests will be shown to the attendees of the first edition of iWARESA2018, a conference on reuse water and salinity management organized by the CEBAS-CESIC and International Water Association that takes place in Murcia from 11 to 15 June.
This meeting of scientists addresses the problem of water scarcity induced by climate change in arid and semi-arid areas. The attendees discuss non-conventional sources of water in agriculture and on the risk of salinization of agricultural land and groundwater in areas where aquifers are depleted significantly, as is the case in the region of Murcia and in many Mediterranean areas where tensions of salt and water are the main limiting factors for a more productive agriculture and technical.
The Laurustinus, the plant in which are realized the studies, has medicinal properties. Their active principles are the viburnina and tannins. The tannins can cause stomach upset. The leaves in infusion have antipyretic properties (reduce fever), Antifebril, antipyretic and Apirético. The fruits have been used as a purgative against constipation. With regard to the tincture of Viburnum tinus lately is being used in herbal medicine as a remedy against depression.
